"i think you can [develop it]. i think brian delima accomplished it using his own crazy method, and i catch glimpses of it from time to time. i think it is there, but it's a bitch trying to sort it out. i know other musicians who have gotten better at guessing keys and stuff as they get older. here's the big thing that no one ever says...it's a memory thing. hence why people prefer relative pitch. it's easier with a reference. so maybe if we can "memorize" the sound of one note (like most guitarist can with their open strings) you can build on that.?. just my thoughts"
